DB203: Oracle and XML (2 days)
Course Overview
XML is not just about the Internet, it has many applications in the wider
business arena-it is becoming the standard infrastructure underlying
electronic business-to-business interaction and next-generation
middleware systems-and is finding its way into many products and
portions of the enterprise.
This course is an intensive two-day course designed to provide attendees with
a background in using XML and, in particular, using XML within an Oracle
environment. The course includes realistic hands-on exercises which illustrate
and complement the up-to-date lecture content.
Audience
This course is designed for Oracle professionals, architects, developers
and programmers of web sites and web applications, and website managers
who need to know how XML will affect their work or who are interested in
the exchange of data between disparate systems.
Course Objectives
In cutting through the misinformation and hype, and presenting a
reality-based foundation of XML from both business and technical
viewpoints, participants will:
- examine the concepts behind XML
- understand the standardization activity occurring in the XML community
- apply XML with particular reference to deploying XML with Oracle
- gain an understanding of how XML can be used to resolve many common data-exchange problems
